IdN magazines latest Craft issue pays homage to designers that say they love being "hands-on", that the feel of real material between their fingers and the inevitable imperfections of the process make it more exciting than purely digital work. They also say that it has its drawbacks, mistakes cannot be rectified with a click of the keyboard and it tends to be time-consuming!

That is true of the approach that Harder applied to their featured spot "Prismacosm"

Prismacosm "An array of objective tangents that sporadically connect in coincidental moments" The word "Prisma" is adopted from the piece's sole medium, Sanford's Prismacolor colored pencils. The second part of the title, "Cosm". Is a customized acronym meaning: Coincidental Objective Sporadic Moments. In this laborious study, we had the freedom to be naive and experimental with our choice of content all the while being very disciplined and strict with our medium. A functional dichotomy by design, allowing sexual innuendos to suffice, as well making volatile moments nice like miami vice...

Damien Hirst, former BritArt bad boy whose works infuriate and inspire in equal measure, did it again on Friday with a diamond-encrusted platinum cast of a human skull priced at a cool $98 million.
The skull, cast from a 35-year-old 18th-century European male, is coated with 8,601 diamonds, including a large pink diamond worth more than $8 million in the center of its forehead.
